Let me set the record straight

I am sure that that are good stories and responsible adopted parents and people who have a great family.

I am not trying to pull down good parents. However sometimes parents are misguided and mislead in observing their children and thinking that nothing appears to be normal or out of order

I ask these questions.

Have you talk to your children about their feelings about Adoption?

Have allowed them to speak about their beliefs and beliefs about Adoption.

Do you know whether they are struggling with identity or depression. Have they displayed any hint of struggling?

Have you talked recently about their Adoption story?

I wished I could have talked openly with my parents without fear of being shamed.

It didn't help that my adoption was a secret.

Secrets have a devastating effects on family. Trust is lost when this happens.

The results on not able to speak openly about Adoption meant

Anger issues

Trust issues

Shame

Adopted parents take advantage of resources by the Ontario Adoption in helping with information on adoption.

Churches pleased do not link Physical adoption to Biblical Adoption. These are 2 different kinds of Adoption.

If we want to minister to Adoptees we have to go in a different direction and approach.

Please listen to well seasoned adoptee.

It won't hurt to admit a error. You won't dissolve.

Pastors

Be open to a different approach to speaking about adoption in your preaching.

The truth is

When we accept Jesus into our lives we confess that we are sinful and need to be rescued by God.

We immediately belong. There is not any money involved.

Physical Adoption is different in our lives a but not better.

Please remember that your child has two families.
