On Saturday afternoon Maurice and I went Thrift Shop shopping. I have been looking for extra extra large warm pants for the Santa Claus Parade.
I found suspenders and I have been looking for the right pair of pants.
I am still looking for these pants. We came out of the parking lot of the second Thrift store. The parking lot is small and not a Saturday morning the lot was full was crowded.
There was not a lot of room to move through the parking lot and pass vehicles. We face a dilemma when we went to pass a large black truck. My husband hesitated as he wondered if there was enough for us to pass.
A large man in the black truck kept motioning for my husband to go past him. Maurice hesitated and the man began to shout Maurice down with derogatory gestures and words of Stupid and lots of F words.
Maurice reluctantly passed by this irate drive. I held my breath and I did not want us to scratch this mans car.
We both breathed a sigh of relief. We both mentioned how angry and difficult it was to pass the truck.
We inched through the crowded parking lot. As We waited at the stop sign and I was looking out my window the Big man from the truck came walking through the crowd. He turned and looked at me. I turned my head as he still wanted to pick a fight and continued to call my husband stupid.
I wanted to tell this man off. I wanted him to stop harassing Maurice. I stopped by a
the notion I needed to be silent.
I began to sing in the car. I had to shut out the abuse and curses coming from this man.
I remembered about How God wants us to bless those who curse us.
I thought of Gods protective care for my husband and I.
I thought How God values me. I started to sing I am a child of the King with Jesus my Savior I am a child of the King.
I sang the song until we left the Thrift store and out on the Highway. I continued to sing for another 10 minutes.
We left this man fuming and fussing and calling us names.
I pray that this man will get over what happened and have a good day.
